As part of its 2015 Bond Program, DISD constructed a new elementary school in Wilmer, TX. Simon was a member of the team selected for the design and development of the New Eddie Bernice Johnson Elementary School, formerly referred to as Wilmer Elementary School. Simon led the civil site design for the project.

The new school is the first Dallas elementary school built in Wilmer, Texas.  As of August 2020, the school serves students in grades pre-K through fifth. The project is Dallas ISD’s first brand new school since 2015. The 83,720-square-foot campus includes an administrative area, media/library, art and music classrooms, gymnasium, dining/stage, central plant, playgrounds, and parking.
