Simon Engineering serves on the Design-Build team which provides civil engineering design services for DART’s first regional commuter rail project. This 26-mile line extends from DFW Airport east through Plano. Working as a sub-consultant to Jacobs Engineering Group, Simon is designing the 15 at-grade double-track rail crossings along the 7-mile Segment 2 corridor (West of IH 35 E to Dallas North Tollway). The design includes horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, cross-sections tying to the rail corridor, signing and striping, traffic maintenance, and right-of-way layouts.
